What’s New for 2021

The new 2021 Highlander now comes with flexible seating for 7 or 8 people, connected services thanks to the Toyota Safety Sense (standard across the lineup), and premium materials in every seat. For 2021, the Highlander offers a choice of two advanced engines along with impressive road-handling capabilities.

Infotainment

The Toyota Highlander comes with available technologies to simplify your drive so you can focus more on the adventure ahead, in Kanata or wherever the road takes you. Available Bird’s Eye View Monitor system has four cameras mounted on the front, rear, and sides of the vehicle to create a panoramic view of your surroundings and display it on the 8” audio screen.

Driver EasySpeak is also available, providing a microphone near the driver that can transmit audio through the rear speakers so you’ll easily get the attention of your passengers.

Capability

When it comes to performance, the Toyota Highlander features the award-winning D4S engine that provides both high output and increased fuel efficiency. The 3.5L Direct Injection Engine boasts 2268 kg (5000 lb) towing capacity, so you can take your boat or camper with you no problem.

The Highlander also comes with a Stop and Start Engine system to reduce fuel consumption and idling emissions. When you come to a full stop, the engine will shut off and only restart when the brake pedal is released.

Safety

Safety is key in the Toyota Highlander, with available safety features like the parking assist system to warn drivers of objects around the vehicle that need to be avoided, as well as judging the distance of the objects from the vehicle.

Blind Spot Monitor detects when another vehicle is in your blind spot and alerts you of it when you try to change lanes while Rear Cross Traffic Alert detects and alerts the driver if another vehicle is approaching from the side.
